Music as an artform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been a musician<\/a> my whole life. I\u2019ve mainly played jazz, but also many other genres, performing throughout Italy and across Europe with various ensembles. I\u2019ve taken part in the recording of around thirty albums, five of which under my own name. One of my pieces<\/a> on YouTube has been viewed by over half a million people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a while, my artistic journey focused on the concept of collaborative music \u2014 a kind of Wikipedia of musical composition \u2014 which I called Kapuziner Strasse<\/a>; it\u2019s a project I still believe in deeply, though perhaps the time for it hasn\u2019t quite come yet. We\u2019ll see. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, my music takes shape through what I call The Game of Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music as a profession<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve taught my instrument, the guitar, for over twenty years and have had more than two thousand students in many schools and several conservatories, both in Italy and abroad. Today, I limit myself to running bimonthly workshops during the school year. Every year, I organize the Guitar Campus<\/a>, un workshop per chitarristi di tutti i livelli. Ho scritto anche un paio di manuali ad argomento musicale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2018, I\u2019ve been managing the Centro Musica<\/a> of the Municipality of Trento, where I try to build a community of people who come together to share their love for music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the website www.accordi-chitarra.it<\/a>, one of the leading Italian sites for beginner guitarists, I\u2019ve offered free lessons to over 30,000 people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music as a means<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Together with luthier Stefano Robol, I designed and built a low-cost guitar for developing countries: the Chiquitica. We produced and sold a couple of thousand of them; we always had more orders than we could fulfill \u2014 despite doing no promotion at all \u2014 and eventually realized it was like having a second job. Since we were doing all of this on a purely voluntary basis, we reluctantly put the project on hold. But for anyone interested, it\u2019s still there \u2014 ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the help of a group of friends and the support of the Spagnolli-Bazzoni<\/a> association, I actively support the project of the first music school in Burundi, as well as a music school in a remote Cuban village called Rodas. For this and other projects, I continue my work as a volunteer through the UpDoo World<\/a> association, which I founded in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m the partner of Ornella and the father of Filippo \u2014 and, truth be told, compared to that, everything written above matters very little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
